At Super Speak, we’ve helped over 65,000 students develop confidence and communication skills since 2006. With public speaking & drama classes running at 18 venues across Melbourne, we are now looking for an energetic, caring and motivated team member to join us as a Teacher + Area Manager.

💡 THIS ROLE IS A GREAT FIT IF YOU:

  • Have a natural aptitude for teaching and spent your teen years in speech & drama, performing arts or drama classes;
  • OR have experience teaching children aged 6 to 14 and love helping them grow;
  • OR are a performer or actor with some teaching experience, looking to move into a stable, long-term career with purpose.
  • Are confident, well-organised and ready to take responsibility.
  • Want a full-time role with room to learn, grow and make a real impact.

It’s desirable (but not essential) to have a tertiary qualification in arts, performance or teaching, or equivalent experience through drama training, acting schools or speech & drama programs.

🎓 WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Teach approximately two weekly class blocks (4 to 6 hours each) for students aged 6 to 14.
  • Manage and support the smooth running of 6 to 8 venues in your area which will likely be North/East Melbourne.
  • Assist with enrolments, scheduling, and general office admin (Malvern East office).
  • Provide guidance & support to other teachers to maintain high-quality classes.
  • Liaise with parents and help manage enrolments.
  • Work partly from our Malvern East office and partly in the field.
  • Oversee venue setup and ensure classes run smoothly.

🕐 WORK HOURS:

  • Monday to Thursday: approx. 12.00pm to 8.00pm.
  • Saturday: approx. 9.00am to 3.30pm.

(Some flexibility during school holidays and quieter weeks)

  • Willing to travel between venues in your assigned area as needed.

POSITION 2: DRAMA TEACHER 

Attractive casual hourly rate based on experience

At Super Speak, we’ve helped over 65,000 students develop confidence and communication skills since 2006. With public speaking & drama classes running at 18 venues across Melbourne, we are now looking for an energetic, caring and motivated team member to join us as a Teacher.

We have an exciting opportunity for passionate teachers with experience in either drama, speech and drama, acting or performing arts to join our team as a teacher.

This teaching position is for an immediate start, or as soon as possible, and offers between 8 – 22 hours a week teaching at venues across Melbourne (whichever locations suit the applicant). This is a fixed term contract to teach at the same venue each week during school term. Immediate start, or as soon as possible.

Classes generally run between 4.00pm and 8.15pm weeknights and 9.00am to 3.30pm Saturday at various locations across Melbourne and surrounding suburbs.

Super Speak locations include: Berwick, Narre Warren, Doncaster, Glen Waverley, Rowville, Ivanhoe, Balwyn North, Chadstone, Altona Meadows, Point Cook, Caroline Springs, Truganina, Ashburton, Burwood, Canterbury, Essendon … plus more!

This would be suitable for people who are able to teach with us for a minimum 12 month period, or longer.

ABOUT YOU:

You have a strong background in teaching or performing arts and have gravitated toward education because you believe in the power of speech & drama to positively affect the lives of young people.

If you are an actor / performing artist, this position will only be suitable if you can commit to the agreed teaching times consistently each week for at least a 12 month period.

You will be someone that has:

·       a fun, professional nature and are able to relate well to children & parents

·       excellent verbal communication skills, positive attitude & self-motivation

·       some teaching experience, or natural aptitude

·       availability to work outside school hours

·       experience teaching children aged 6 – 14 years

·       either a VIT registration or a Work With Children Check card

Applicants must own a reliable car and mobile phone. The candidate is also required to participate in paid training sessions twice a year.
